I wrote two brand journalism pieces for my family’s company, a travel agency that caters to the scuba diving industry.
The company wanted their clients to book more trips to Asia, but faced challenges because:
Americans don’t get much vacation time so they have more difficulty traveling to Asia.
Americans often have misconceptions about Asian / Islamic culture.
Dive destinations in Asia can be fairly expensive and require a bit more marketing heft.
I wrote two journalism-style articles to introduce clients to Malaysia and Indonesia, which we felt were perfect “gateway” destinations for reluctant dive travelers.
I also shot and edited a video for the company (with minimal production resources) to promote one of their Caribbean destinations.
FortuneBuilders
I wrote SEO-driven content for FortuneBuilders, a company that sells a real estate investment course. Working with a great team of SEO specialists and content editors, we were able to achieve high SERP rankings for extremely competitive keywords, often outranking juggernaut competitors such as NerdWallet and Investopedia.
I love the ocean, so I leapt at the opportunity to help a local dive shop overhaul their website.
I wrote new landing pages and blog content for the website, focusing on SEO-driven content to increase brand visibility and generate leads. The new website launched in January 2022 and the organic traffic significantly increased.
When I joined the project, the website had no keywords ranking in the Top 10.
